Jason Worthy plays in the Centre or on the wing and will be part of the Scotty’s Little Soldiers Team taking on the Charity World Record Rugby Attempt on the 12th – 13th May 2017.
Jason has previously played for De Montfort University and Bedford Athletic in late 90s as well as Crowthorne RFC more recently!
I am extremely passionate about Scotty’s Little Soldiers and have been involved with the charity for almost as long as it has been around. Nikki Scott and Stuart Robinson were school friends of mine and we, as often happens, lost touch over the years until I heard Nikki’s devastating news that her husband, Cpl Lee Scott, had been killed by an IED in Afghanistan.
Soon after I heard about Nikki’s plans to start Scotty’s and I felt compelled to help – so I got in touch and did whatever I could to help. Fast forward to today and I am now a volunteer and Chairman of the Trustees working with and supporting the Scotty’s team to achieve our charitable objectives to support the children of our fallen servicemen and women. I was lucky enough to be Captain of the Scotty’s team in the first World Record Match at Welford Road and I am honoured to be playing again in 2017 to raise vital funds and awareness for Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
I turn 40 years old later this year so this game will officially be my last…I think!!
