So as we are writing this the wait is finally over and all preparations in place for the epic events and the Guinness World Record Rugby attempt 31hrs of rugby finally hear. Less than 10 minutes until kick off on a damp early morning at Worcester Warriors, Sixways stadium. This does not put off the players morale is high and so is the banter between the 2 teams. All the players, Volunteers and Sponsors have already helped to raise awareness for the 2 charities and vast amounts of money through the players fundraising as you will see below.
It would not be right to let this blog post go out without paying tribute to the 2 Event Organisers Dave Allison and Alan Knell. These 2 giants have worked tirelessly over the last few years to organise the event, locating a Venue, Sorting Sponsors, Recruiting Players and promoting the event as well as everything that goes with organising an event like this. I think everyone involved including the charities, players and volunteers that are involved or supporting the 31hrs of rugby, the party night on Saturday evening and the event as a whole would like to join us in saying a massive thank you for all the hard work time and dedication that they have put in to make the event happen.
Now Players play safe work for each other get your rest when you can, refuel and keep going, when times get hard remember why your playing and how many people that your fundraising will help in the long run. So this is a good time to just take a snap shot of the Players fundraising before the kick off.
If you are in the area please pop along to Sixways Stadium and give the players and staff some support entry over the 2 days is by donation on the gate. With gates open from 8am until 10pm Today with them back open and also including the Worcester family funday on Saturday until 3pm. Can’t make it to the game you are able to send your support through twitter with details on our Show your Support page and you can also still donate through any of the players Justgiving pages that are linked on the Team pages below or also on the team and players pages on our website.
Once again massive thank you for all your support through out the build up to the event lets keep it going and make sure everyone knows about the epic event and the charities involved.
